December Favorites
Happy End-of-December!
This month’s favorites may be a little shorter than usual as I was holiday-ing and offline for most of the month, which is actually a good thing, come to think of it.
I hope your December was merry and bright, and if it wasn’t, I’m trusting God’s comforting arms were around you and will continue to hold you into the new year.
Here are a few things I’ve enjoyed or that have encouraged me this month…
First things first - I have these easy, flaky, 3-ingredient biscuits in the oven as I’m working on this post and wow do they smell amazing!!!
Here’s a fascinating and brief history of Christmas markets. I would love to go on a tour of Christmas markets across Europe one year!
Speaking of fascinating histories, here’s an article on Saint Nicholas and the Origins of Santa Claus by Dr. Stephen Nichols, who was one of my professors in college.
Here’s a must-listen for the wounded, weary heart: God hears your cry.
The best of 2022 in photographs: the top 50 from around the world.
And here are ten of the best cookbooks from fall 2022. I love cookbooks, don’t you?
Here are the seven types of rest. I think I need all of them after the holiday season! The way she breaks down each type of rest is very helpful. I’ll be bookmarking this one for future reference.
Do you listen to podcasts? I didn’t up until the past couple of years. I tried to get into them several times, but the ones that were recommended to me just never interested me.
Thankfully I’ve finally found some podcasts I love and look forward to, so I thought it would be fun to share them with you. Here are my favorites from this year!
Here’s Where It Gets Interesting by Sharon McMahon
Verity Podcast by Phylicia Masonheimer
The After Class Podcast by Ronald Peters, John Nugent, and Sam Long
The Habit Podcast: Conversations with Writers About Writing by The Rabbit Room
This month I shared about simple joys and slow seasons and my top ten books of 2022.
Currently on my nightstand: Walking on Water.
Speaking of books, here’s my fall reading list. What’s on yours?
Disclaimer: I am not in any way affiliated with anyone or anything on this list. Just sharing a few of my favorite things!
